Katy Cares is pleased to announce that Jollery Eckerd has been unanimously elected Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. Since joining the Board in October 2024, Jollery has brought a strong commitment to service and a strategic, collaborative approach to governance—qualities that will now play an even greater role as she steps into this expanded leadership position.

With a Master’s Degree in Economics, deep roots in public service and community development, Jollery is one of the most active and involved members of the Fort Bend County area. She currently serves as Vice President of the Weston Lakes Women’s Association and as a board member of the Weston Lakes Scholarship and Grant Foundation. Her civic engagement extends across a broad range of organizations, including Keep Weston Lakes Beautiful, the Regional Chamber of Commerce – Fulshear, TX, the ATHENA Executive Program, Network In Action (NIA), and the Thunderbird Global Alumni Network (TGAN).

Her volunteer work throughout the greater Houston area reflects a long-standing dedication to strengthening neighborhoods, supporting families, and fostering meaningful community connections.

As Vice Chair, Jollery will play a key role in advancing the Board’s strategic direction and governance. Her responsibilities include serving as acting Chair in the absence of the Chair, presiding over Board and executive sessions, partnering with the Board Chair to set agendas and strategic priorities, and supporting informed decision-making across the organization. She will also assist in recruiting, orienting, and engaging new board members, as well as leading special committees or task forces as needed.
Beyond her nonprofit leadership, Jollery is the owner and publisher of Stroll Fulbrook Magazine, a community-based publication that connects local businesses and residents of Fulshear, fostering engagement, visibility, and a strong sense of neighborhood pride.

Katy Cares is grateful for Jollery’s dedication and looks forward to the continued impact of her leadership as we work together to restore hope and make wholeness possible for single-parent families navigating hardship.
