At this year’s Boots and Bling Gala, we were honored to present our 2026 Warriors for Charity Awards to two individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to supporting Katy Cares: Katie Miller and Chris Tyson.

Meet Katie Miller

Katie Miller, Operations Manager at Venue 116 in Brookshire, is someone who understands what it means to serve others well.

Anyone who has worked an event with Katie knows that she is responsive when it matters, accommodating when plans change, and consistently one of the kindest and most generous professionals we have had the opportunity to work with. She is a credit to Venue 116 and to its owner, Shawn Johnson, who is equally exceptional.

But what sets Katie apart goes beyond logistics. She has a genuine passion for serving her community and a deep belief that meaningful connections are how we make a difference. That commitment is reflected in every detail she handles on our behalf.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, discovering new coffee shops, and hanging out with her dog.

Meet Chris Tyson

For five consecutive years, beginning in 2022, Chris Tyson has helped Katy Cares create spectacular silent and live auctions for our annual gala.

If you have ever bid on a signed jersey, a dream vacation package, or a once-in-a-lifetime experience at our gala, chances are Chris had a hand in making it possible. Together, these auctions have raised thousands of dollars to support programs serving single-parent families.

Through Tyson Fundraising, Chris and his team partner with more than 400 charities across Texas, including organizations in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas–Fort Worth, and beyond. Their work spans galas, casino nights, golf tournaments, and other benefit events.

They specialize exclusively in charity fundraising auctions, offering authentic signed memorabilia from football, basketball, baseball, the PGA, and Texas college programs, along with signed guitars, albums, movie posters, vacation packages, and unique experiences.

But what sets Chris and his team apart isn’t simply what they offer. It’s how they work. They take the time to understand each organization, its event, its guests, and its goals, then build an auction lineup that fits. On gala night, they handle the details so we can focus on our guests. Afterward, they help us understand the results and identify opportunities to make the next event even stronger.

Katie and Chris, thank you for standing with Katy Cares and with the single-parent families we serve. Your dedication, generosity, and continued support of our mission have made a meaningful difference. We are grateful for your partnership, and this recognition is well deserved.
