A Heartfelt “Thank You!” and an Exciting “Welcome!”

The Board of Directors for Katy Cares, Inc. welcomes Dr. Jerry Edmonson as new Board Chairman. As the father of Katy Cares founder, Allison Edmonson Stark, Dr. Edmondson has been an avid supporter from day one in 2016—every step of the way. His experience, expertise, and unwavering commitment to our mission make him the perfect choice to lead us into our next chapter.

After nine years of exceptional leadership, Dr. Harry Chapman is stepping down as Chairman and handing over the “reigns.”

Since 2017, Dr. Chapman s guidance, business expertise, deep understanding of the nonprofit landscape, and generous financial support have been instrumental in building the sustainable organization we are today. While we’ll miss his leadership at the helm, we’re grateful that he will continue serving as Chairman Emeritus.

Dr. Harry Chapman, “thank you for nine faithful years of transforming lives!” Dr. Jerry, “we look forward to the next chapter of our journey together, under your leadership!”

“Please join us in celebrating Dr. Harry’s legacy and welcoming Dr. Jerry to this new role!”

About Dr. Edmonson

Dr. Jerry Edmonson is the Founding Pastor of The Fellowship, Katy, Texas. Raised in a military family, Dr. Jerry enlisted in the Army after high school, serving as a paratrooper and combat medic with the 82nd Airborne. Following his military service, he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Baylor University and later pursued a career in sales management with P&G before answering the call to ministry.

He completed his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and relocated to Katy in 1992. Two years later, he and a handful of families launched The Fellowship, which has served the community for over three decades. A lifelong learner, he earned his doctoral degree in Transformational Leadership from Bakke Graduate University in 2010.

Dr. Jerry and his wife, Gail, have been blessed with three adult children and nine grandchildren. He loves to say he has four Gs in his life: God, Gail, grandkids, and golf! When he is not working, you can find him…

Running, reading, golfing, traveling, watching sports or a good movie, or just hanging out with Gail, friends, or the grandkids.
