Led by a multidisciplinary team of business and professional leaders involved in the Katy community, Katy Cares was founded in 2016 as a solution-driven response to our community’s most vulnerable population – single parent families and children.

Our attention was drawn to the invisible and expanding social dilemma of single mothers and children who experienced trauma as a result of an event, series of events and/or set of circumstances that are physically, emotionally harmful, and life-threatening.

These events have lasting and negative effects on an individual’s and/or family’s functioning and mental, physical, social, and emotional or spiritual well-being. Katy Cares was founded to provide a structured solution to this dire need experienced by single parent families.
